Record Attendance; Conference focused on Transformational Claims Initiatives
FINEOS Corporation, a market leading provider of claims management software, has just concluded its fifth annual customer event, the FINEOS Claims Global Summit in San Francisco. Based around the theme of ‘Transformational Claims Initiatives’, the event drew participants from over 25 organizations from the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Europe. The three day conference featured presentations from FINEOS customers, partners and industry analysts and experts, as well as interactive sessions with FINEOS executives. Key sponsors included Crowe Paradis Services Corporation, The Advocator Group and Claim Analytics.
Commenting at the conclusion of the Summit, FINEOS CEO,Michael Kelly, said, “This collaborative event has been a tremendous success and we’d like to thank our customers not only for participating in such numbers but also for engaging with us so constructively. The attendees heard industry experts discuss a range of topics. Professor Sir Mansel Aylward delivered the keynote address entitled ‘The Power of Belief’ which explored the risks of ‘worklessness’ and the harmful effects of long-term unemployment or prolonged illness absence from work. Karen Furtado of Strategy Meets Action (SMA) discussed how technology continues to change the way claims organizations operate and presented her research findings from more than 450 insurance professionals in Disability, Life, and Property & Casualty insurance carriers. Another industry thought leader, Dr John LoCascio, focused his session, ‘At the Cutting Edge: Complex Claims Analysis’ on how, with better access to data and enhanced medical analysis, properly trained and experienced doctors and nurses can help colleagues “mine” data more effectively, allocate resources more efficiently and help set realistic expectations for return to life and return to work. The Summit program also included case studies, best practice discussions and demonstrations of the latest features in FINEOS Claims.
The winners of the 2011 FINEOS Innovation and Excellence Awards were announced at the start of the Summit. The award program recognizes FINEOS customers who are using claims technology to achieve operational excellence within their organizations. This year’s awards went to Assurant Employee Benefits (US), Accident Compensation Corporation (New Zealand) and FBD Insurance (Ireland). The Road Accident Fund of South Africa received an honorable mention
