As the spread of the COVID-19 virus continues to impact many people and business around the globe, I want to explain what FINEOS is doing to protect our employees and our customers while continuing to provide our high levels of service. Our reaction to a crisis of this nature works to reinforce our FINEOS purpose to “help our customers care for the people they serve through the delivery of superior insurance technology.” This is especially true as we support family leave and absence programs, provided by many insurers in the US to serve employees across the country.
Our primary duty of care is to our FINEOS community – our employees and their families, as well as to you our valued customers, as we continue to manage this extraordinary situation. To address the needs of our employees and their families, we established a cross-functional and global COVID-19 taskforce that monitors the unique country by country circumstances on a daily basis and provides timely updates as the situation evolves.
For our customers, we are proactively planning for various scenarios as part of our business continuity management:
- Our Business Continuity Plan takes into account the need to balance our obligation to support locally mandated work from home requirements, while continuing current installation and upgrade projects, as well as providing support and maintenance for all our customers.
- We have put measures in place to insure project and business continuity as our COVID-19 taskforce works with local FINEOS leaders to comply with local regulations, modify work patterns to deal with school closures and other care provider issues, and have backup for any employees that do fall ill.
- We are fortunate that FINEOS already actively embraces the concept of digital business and the virtual workplace. This is true for our own business technology backbone in the cloud as well as the FINEOS Platform and FINEOS AdminSuite product components. As we know, the cloud is the most up-to date, secure and agile platform for supporting digital business and remote work patterns.
- Our internal support and management tools from email to help desk to project management tools are cloud based with easy access for our employees and customers, no matter where they are located.
In addition, the FINEOS compliance team is monitoring emergency legislation on COVID-19 related absence and paid leave that is being introduced by our Governments to support employees. FINEOS is positioned to advise and help our clients who wish to implement these plans. For those of you interested, I encourage you to follow our compliance blog on how we perceive new emergency regulations and the potential impact on absence and IDAM. These are complicated and unnerving times for us all and I would like you to know that FINEOS will continue to support our employees, our customers and our global community to the very best of our ability.
